Marvin LeRoy Stout, 80, of Homestead, formerly of Lacey, passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Mercy, Cedar Rapids.
Marvin was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Lacey, Iowa, the son of Galen and Helen (Moser) Stout. He graduated from Lacey High School. Marvin was united in marriage to Jerolee McArtor on June 10, 1959, in New Sharon.
He retired from the City of Cedar Rapids Streets Department. He was a member of the Hawk A Model A Club and Antique Automotive Club of America. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending winters in South Padre, Island for the last 18 years. His hobbies included working on his Model A, attending meeting and participating in tours. He loved carrying on a conversation with anyone he encountered.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Jerolee; two daughters, Lynn (Bryan) Galde and Kim (Tom) Ballard; grandchildren, Ashley Allen, Courtney (Kyle) Upah, Nathan (Stephanie) Ballard, Star, Sasha, Sara and Skylar Galde and Justin (Jess) Overturf; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Kinley, Kora Allen, Maddox and Londyn Upah, Emery and Cash Ballard and Trinity Suchan, amd Jaden, Hunter and Noah Overturf; and a sister-in-law, Loreen Stout.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Stout; and sister, Barbara (Lee) Anderson.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg and Holland- Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon are assisting the family. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
