Colleen Esther Ahomana, 59, died of cancer April 18, 2015. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, at River of Life Ministries, 3801 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids. Visitation with family will be one hour before the service.
Survivors include her spouse, Vi Ahomana, and his children, Kesa and Levi; daughter, Kamisha (Nate) Schupanitz, and three grandchildren, Drayton, Braxton and Jace; son, Justin Ward, and three grandchildren, Bailey, Elijah and Aaliyah; two brothers, Mark (Becky) O'Connell and Steve (Patricia) O'Connell; and two sisters, Carol (Mark) Blomberg and Marie (Steve) DeVries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Jacqueline (Garner) O'Connell; and former spouse and her children's father, Ernest Ward.
Colleen was born March 19, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended Brownsville School of Ministry and married Vi Ahomana in 2002. She was a home health care aide and worked for many years at Norand Corp. Very important to Colleen was her Christian faith; she considered Israel a second home and visited the country more than a dozen times.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy or charity of choice.
