Iowa State signee Cameron Lard to arrive in Ames in next few weeks
Dec. 12, 2016 2:43 pm
Iowa State men's basketball coach Steve Prohm said he'd be "blown away" if four-star forward signee Cameron Lard isn't enrolled and on campus somewhere between December 26 and January 10.
Lard, who has spent the semester at Pro Vision Academy in Houston, is completing three required courses that would make him eligible to enroll at Iowa State. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward signed with the Cyclones in April, but academic eligibility concerns arose after Lard transferred high schools in New Orleans before going to Houston.
Prohm said the staff is meeting with the ISU compliance office and everything is on track for Lard to arrive within the next few weeks.
'Everybody's kind of been working through this for a long time,' Prohm said. 'Obviously he can't play this year, but he's playing right now down there and playing against junior colleges and different things with the prep league and all that. He's doing really well.
'It'll be really good to get him here for a semester to really just integrate him academically and what he needs to do basketball wise then this summer will be great for him.'
