Terry E. Peters, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Jenny Seylar. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Terry is survived by his wife, Becky; four children, Denise (Nick) White, Tanya (Gary) Schmitt, Erik (Erin) Borseth and Lance Borseth, all of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Gloria (Ron) Engelken of Elko, Minn.; one aunt, Vera Sheldon; cousins, Kathy and Connie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Terry was born on April 10, 1946, in Anamosa, the son of Gale and Charlene Sheldon Peters. He married Becky on June 10, 1978, in Ely. Terry graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1964. He was drafted into the Army in 1965. Terry served as an MP in Camp Zama, Japan, and was honorably discharged in September 1967. He was a member of the American Legion Pekomy Post NO. 572. Terry loved his jobs driving truck for Vigortone and GSTC.
Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bird watching, showing horses, watching TV, especially the Chicago Cubs, and dancing. More than anything though, he adored his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them and his many friends.
