Eastern Iowa Airport temporarily closing lower level entrance

The Eastern Iowa Airport's lower level passenger terminal entrance from the parking lot will be closed temporarily from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, July 25, and during the same hours on Tuesday, July 26.

Passengers or visitors entering or leaving the terminal during those hours will need to use the main doors along the terminal drive. The closure will occur after the last fight departs on each day and the entrance will reopen before early morning passengers begin arriving.

The temporary closure is due to work being performed as part of the airport's $50 million terminal modernization project. The work, which began in 2014, includes upgraded finishes, improved energy efficiency, more aircraft boarding bridges, and upgraded amenities.

Construction is expected to be complete in 2019.
