A few tickets available for Iowa-ISU men's basketball
Dec. 6, 2012 9:25 am
IOWA CITY - About 1,000 tickets remain for Friday night's Iowa-Iowa State men's basketball game, Iowa ticket manager Pam Finke said Thursday morning.
Most of the available tickets are located in the student section starting with the 30th row upward. Tickets can be purchased online and printed from a home computer so last-minute buyers can avoid standing in line to pick them up. Carver-Hawkeye Arena seats 15,400.
Students will be allowed to enter the arena 20 minutes earlier than usual so they can get lower-rim seats. Finke cautioned anyone buying tickets in the student section that students stand throughout the game. That's why tickets are available only 30 rows and upward.
"Older folks need to know that so they can have a good experience," Finke said.
Overall, Iowa has sold 9,000 season tickets this year, up from 7,765 last year. More than 2,200 came from student sales.
As for next week's Big 4 Classic in Des Moines, Iowa has sold out its 1,300-ticket allotment. Anyone wanting to buy tickets to the two-game event can call the Wells Fargo Arena Ticket Office at (515) 564-8351.
