Gladys Maxine Jones, 97, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, in the Ed & Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit within St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment will be held at Alice Cemetery in rural Center Point at a later date.
Gladys was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Katie (Simanek) Horak. She was united in marriage with Lloyd Jones on June 20, 1942, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Center Point and was a member of Alice United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the time she spent as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital and the Marion Library.
Gladys is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, David L. Jones of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Janice (Harold) Hikiji of Marion, Iowa; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; son, Steven R. Jones; and sister, Charlotte Newland.
