Huff, Clifford
Clifford Huff, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. Services: 3 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Bill Salzmann, who also officiated at his marriage. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m.
Cliff is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Marie; brother-in-law, Howard Ewoldt of Cedar Rapids; nephew, Dan (Linda) Mashek of Eldridge; great-niece, Elizabeth Mashek of Altoona; great-nephew, Thomas (Julie) Mashek and their children, Madison, Max and Mallory, all of Fruitland; and niece, Mary DuFrane-Mashek and her children, Joseph and Monica, all of Oro Valley, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette Mashek; and nephew, Stephen Mashek.
Cliff was born Sept. 10, 1917 in Iowa City, to Clifford and Maude Huff. He married Marie Ewoldt at the Danforth Chapel in Iowa City on June 16, 1973. Cliff retired from the engineering department at Harnischfeger in 1982. Cliff enjoyed Hawkeye sporting events, especially wrestling and football, attending football games for 83 years. He and Marie enjoyed traveling across the US, Europe, Mexico and Canada as well as attending Orchestra Iowa concerts. He loved gardening and was a skilled woodworker.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or a charity of the donor's choice.
