Beth Roth, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Beth was born on Oct. 23, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Joyce (Bennett) Roach. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971. Beth was united in marriage to Dennis Lee Roth on Jan. 15, 1971, at Salem United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years, later working as a baker in the Cedar Rapids public school systems.
Beth was a member of the Cedar Hills Booster Club, a coach for Cedar Hills, and a member of the Cedar Boat Club. She and Dennis ran the concession stand for Jefferson Booster Club for many years. Beth loved her time at the boathouse and bonfires. She had a great love for animals and would take in strays. Beth's greatest love was her grandchildren and family.
Beth is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dennis Roth of Cedar Rapids; children, Sarah (Brian) Clemensen of Davenport, Iowa, Chris (Gary) Matheny of Palm Coast, Fla., and Tom (Melissa) Roth of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna (Glyn) Turner of Center Point, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joyce Roach; and granddaughter, Caitlin Renee Clemensen.
