John Michael Jantzen, 20, of Lenexa, Kan., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, where family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include his mother, Lori, of Lenexa, Kan.; brother, Matt of Ames; grandfather, Rae and stepgrandmother Kathy Garton of Des Moines; grandmother, Gretchen Fousek of Urbandale; grandmother, Ellen Jantzen of Grinnell; uncle, Doug, aunt, Barb, and cousin, Marissa, all of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was born Dec. 30, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Xavier High School in 2013. John was a student at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan., at the time of his death.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Foundation in Cedar Rapids or to Shueyville United Methodist Church in memory of John.
