Wilford, Thomas G.
Thomas G. Wilford, 76, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Hospice of Valley, Peoria, Ariz. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William B. Harnish. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolee; his sons, Craig (Nancy) of Derby, Kan., and Timothy of Flower Mound, Texas; two grandchildren, Brook (Anthony) and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Bradley; one sister, Beverly Sparks of Washington State; three sisters-in-law, Pat Goodwin, Sylvia Wilford and Jeanette Wilford; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank, Chuck, Carl, Doris and Ruth.
Thomas was born Aug. 26, 1935, the son of Floyd and Hazel (Wilson) Wilford, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. On May 17, 1957, Thomas was united in marriage to Carolee Williams. For 43 years, he worked at Rockwell Collins, retiring as a plant manager. Thomas was a past member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Arizona, 12740 N. Plaza Del Rio Blvd., Peoria, AZ 85381, in memory of Thomas.
