Myers, Lamont Allen
Lamont Allen Myers, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. A memorial gathering will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; his stepdaughter, Kim (Mark) Naaktgeboren of Cedar Rapids; his granddaughter, Shayna; and great-grandson, Draydn of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are children, Laura, William and Brenda; four grandchildren; his brother, Douglas; and two sisters, Barbara and Joann.
Lamont was born Feb. 26, 1941, the son of Russell and Viola (Saylor) Myers in Cedar Rapids. On April 3, 1981, he married Kathy Bideaux in Marion. He graduated from Wilson High School. He served with the U.S. Navy. Lamont worked at Cryovac for 30 years before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed going to the lake, traveling, fishing and hunting with his best friend, Fred.
