ROSE ROXANNE (GRIMM) EDGAR
Hiawatha
Rose Roxanne (Grimm) Edgar, 41, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, after a battle with cervical cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Rose is survived by her husband, Chance Edgar of Hiawatha; her children, Jared Foster of Cedar Falls, Melanie Foster of Cedar Rapids and Zach Foster of Cedar Rapids; her father, Delbert Grimm (Nettie) of Cedar Rapids; her brothers, Mike Grimm (Tara) of Strawberry Point and Bill Grimm (Dawn) of Waterville, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Terri Grimm of Cedar Rapids; in-laws, Steve "Bruno" Edgar (Crystal) and Chanda Marlow (Kevin); and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Grimm; brother, Paul Grimm; and sister, Deanna Grimm.
Rose was a graduate of Kennedy High School, Cedar Rapids, and worked for Mediacom for several years. She married Chance Edgar on Aug. 11, 2018. Although their time together was short, their wedding song sums up the love they had for each other:
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Rose loved her children more than anything and was so proud of their accomplishments. Her favorite things were her snow globe collection and her extended biker family. Rose was charitable to several causes and events in the area. She fought a brave battle with cervical cancer for the last year and died surrounded by those who loved her.
Special thank you to the staff of the Oldorf Hospice House, for their love and care in her final days.
Memorials may be directed to Rose's husband, Chance Edgar.
