'It was also great to see Steve get his 100th victory via technical fall in the second period. Great night for wrestling and two encouraging victories for us as we move into the weekend at a very tough Western Dubuque Bobcat duals.”
The Wildcats went 1-3 at the Bobcat duals on Saturday, Maquoketa Valley lost, 49-29, to a team full of highly ranked wrestlers from Dakota, Ill. 'Overall, I like how the guys competed today and not once did somebody throw in the towel or give up no matter who we wrestled or what the score was.” Andrews said. 'The younger guys got a first hand look at grade A competition and hopefully has them more prepared when the opportunity presents itself again. These meets are good for us in terms of showing the guys that we need to continue to improve and get better everyday as we head into Christmas break practices and the second half of the season.”
