Tracie Annette Homewood, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side at her home. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Monday, July 27, at
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at a later date in Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon.
Tracie was born July 15, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Quenton and Faye (Herdliska) Penrod. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1980. Tracie loved shopping and almost every trip included the purchase of a purse. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and she had a great sense of humor. However her greatest love of all was time spent with her family.
Tracie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Jason (fiancee Sheri Espe) of Cedar Rapids and Shannon of Newhall; brother, Douglas Penrod of Davenport; three grandchildren, Michael, Michaela and Gwendolyn; niece, Kaylee; nephew, Matthew; sister-in-law, Rhonda Penrod; and her dogs, Pickles and Dooney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Scott; and her two dogs, Tika and Bear.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
