Teams to watch

l C.R. Prairie - In their first season of varsity competition together, sisters Magui Caro and Vale Caro sparked the Hawks to a 10-3 conference record and a match away from qualifying for the 2A state team tournament.

l C.R. Washington - New coach Spencer Eells takes over a Warriors team that returns four of their top six singles' players from the undefeated MVC Mississippi champions and Class 2A state champions.

l Iowa City High - Led by two-time state singles runner-up Eve Small, the two-time defending MVC Valley champions have won 25 of their last 27 MVC matches.

BOYS Players to watch

l David DiLeo, sr., Iowa City West - 2014 2A doubles state champion; 2013 2A state singles semifinalist; 2013 first team all-MVC Mississippi.

l Rami Hemaidan, fresh., C.R. Kennedy - Top-ranked 16-and-under player in the state according to United States Tennis Association.

l Joe Hoff, soph., Iowa City High - First-team all-MVC Mississippi; Ranked second in the state for 16-and-under players by USTA.

l Jackson Hoyt, jr., C.R. Washington - First team all-MVC Valley in 2014; 2013 state doubles semifinalist.

l Jiung Jung, soph., Iowa City West - Placed fourth at Class 2A singles state tournament; First-team all-MVC Mississippi. No. 2 singles player as a freshman for undefeated team state champion.

l Trevor McCann, sr., Linn-Mar - Second team all-MVC Valley; Two-time 2A doubles state qualifier.

l Karl Sand, sr., Decorah - Third-place in 1A doubles state tournament with Caleb Ulring.

l Caleb Ulring, sr., Decorah - Teamed with Karl Sand for third-place at 1A doubles state tournament.

Teams to watch

l Decorah - The Vikings return five players from team that claimed third place at Class 1A team state tournament.

l Iowa City West - The Trojans must replace four of their top six singles players, a group that won its last 54 matches and finished 72-1 and was the first 2A boys' team with three straight state championships.

l Linn-Mar - Coach Chris Wundram returns nine of his top 10 players from 2A state runner-up team. Division champion in two of the last three seasons.
