John E. Webb, 85, of Independence, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at the UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
John was born on May 23, 1935, near Lisbon, Iowa, the son of Frank and Jennie (Norris) Webb. He attended the Lisbon Schools and was united in marriage to Joyce E. Hall. He became employed with
the Blahnik Construction Co. for 25 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked with his son Scott Webb, Webb Concrete Construction Co.
John loved his family and following them around to their events. He enjoyed stock car racing, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Webb; his son, Scott Webb of Independence, Iowa; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherrie Elaine Webb; four brothers, Cato, Milas, John and Milo Webb,; and two sisters, Alta Mae Penne and Florence Segars.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the Reiff Family Center, Independence, with the Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Reiff Family Center, Independence, Iowa. Social distancing and wearing a mask will be observed.
