Scott Bowser, 63, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at his home in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home today, Feb. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Certified Celebrant Dr. James Coyle officiating.
Scott was born on Nov. 15, 1957, the son of the late Billy Ray and JoAnne (Duffy) Bowser. On May 31, 2008, Scott married the love of his life, Cindy Dahl, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Scott loved his boat, loved to fish, antiques, and his wife and children. Scott and Cindy enjoyed traveling around the country, especially Jamaica, Maya Riviera, Mexico, and Florida. Scott was a lifetime member of the IBEW Local 405 here in Cedar Rapids.
Those left to cherish Scott's memory are his loving wife Cindy; mother-in-law, Linda Dahl; his children, Emily (Ron) Schultz of Marion, Iowa, Brian (Christina) Bowser of Michigan, Lisa (Derek) McDaniel of Dubuque, Iowa, Patrick Osten of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Adam Osten, of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaidyn, Jensen, Addisyn, Noralyn, Grafton, Alyssa, Gwendelynn, Lillian, Derek Jr., Mya and Ava; siblings, Lori (Rupert) Ellis of Cedar Rapids, Cyndi (Bob) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, and Dan Novak of Shellsburg, Iowa; his four-legged family members, Teddy the Dog and Demon the Cat; as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ken Dahl; and his siblings, Brad, Connie, and Shelly.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the IBEW Local 405 apprenticeship program.
The family would like to give a thank-you to the Cedar Rapids Police and Fire Department for all the care and skill they gave to Scott.
