Shirley Ann Seaton, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, by Pastor Keith Pitts of Valley View Baptist Church. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Tracy Seaton, Wade (Debbie) Seaton and Wendy Seaton, all of Cedar Rapids, and Chris (Lisa) Seaton, Prairieburg; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Gloria Franks, Marion, Judy (Merrill) Wirth, Cedar Rapids, and Penny (Gary) Hood, Brodhead, Wis.; and mother-in-law, Dora Lee Williams, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David M. and Ruby Ellen (O'Connor) Richards; and two sisters, Sally Bents and Carol Pirtle.
Shirley was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Cedar Rapids and had lived in Springville and Bertram before returning to Cedar Rapids as a young girl with her family. She married Richard A. Seaton on Nov. 26, 1960, in Cedar Rapids and they were one day shy of celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary.
When she was younger, Shirley enjoyed crocheting. She also loved her dog, Crackers.
