Violet Marie Urbanek, 65, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at her home. Service will be 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Jan. 10, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Father David O'Connor will officiate at the service. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa with a Sripture service starting at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving are her sister, Roxanne Urbanek of Anamosa; and nephew, Sam Urbanek of Mechanicsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard in 1989.
Violet was born March 30, 1948, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Newman J. and Patricia T. Patnode Urbanek. She was a 1966 graduate of Anamosa High School. After high school, she worked as a ward clerk at Jones Regional Hospital and was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, needle work, going to baseball games especially the Cedar Rapids Kernels. She was a very active person and was always on the go.
She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
