Mote, Doris M.
Doris M. Mote, 95, formerly of Central City, passed away to heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Heritage Care Care in Globe, Ariz. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include a son, William C. (Sharon) Mote II of Globe, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Richard Steggall, John Steggall, Cindy Bye, Patti Hagen, Linda Counter, Jeffrey Mote, Julie Alger, Joey Mote and Jon Mote; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Annis of Central City.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Jerline Steggall; a great-granddaughter, Katie Counter; and siblings, Ellen Clayton, Walter O'Connor and Kathryn Mercerelli.
Doris was born April 30, 1916, in Central City, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Bertha (Mann) O'Connor. She graduated from Central City High School in 1934. On Jan. 10, 1934, Doris was united in marriage to William Charles Mote. He died May 2, 1975.
She dedicated her life to her husband, family, friends, Camp Fire, scouting and also the Historical Society.
