Emma G. Redlinger, 14, died Feb. 28, 2015, at University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Vinton Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Connie Wacht officiating.
Emma was born Aug. 4, 2000, in Cedar Rapids to Steve and Aimee Graves Redlinger. She was a freshman at Vinton- Shellsburg High School. She loved tumbling, cheerleading competitions, music and spending time with her friends.
Emma is survived by her mother, Aimee Redlinger and partner Luke Erickson of Vinton; her father, Steve Redlinger of Vinton; her siblings, Taylor, Haelea and Luke Daniel; her beloved cousin, Kaylee Graves; her grandparents, Jean Redlinger of Vinton and Brenda Kindred of Cedar Rapids; her aunts and uncles, Bonnie Stevens of Blaine, Minn., Anna (Steve) Wilson, Laura Redlinger, David (Kristin) Redlinger, Aaron (Margo) Redlinger and Mark (Jen) Redlinger, all of Vinton, and Monte (Holly) Graves and Jason (Lindsey) Bodkins, both of Cedar Rapids.
Emma was preceded in death by her infant sister, Sara Jean Redlinger, in 2003; her grandfathers, Gary Redlinger and Kenneth Bodkins; her uncle, Joel Redlinger; and her great-grandparents, Karl Kindred and Colleen Glisan.
Emma gave the gift of life through the Iowa Donor Network.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
