Iowa City woman charged with drug possession after taxi traffic stop

An Iowa City woman is in custody on drug possession charges after a taxi she was riding in was pulled over for a traffic violation.
According to criminal complaints, police stopped a taxi for a traffic violation at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a drug detection dog alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.
The passenger, 23-year-old Chonghui D. Hannah, was searched and was found to be in possession of 4.8 grams of crack/cocaine, police said. Officers said Hannah attempted to dispose of the drugs while an officer was searching her.
Hannah was charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstructing prosecution, both misdemeanors. She is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $7,500 cash-only bond.
