BARBARA ANN JILOVEC
Mechanicsville
Barbara Ann Jilovec, 75, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2017. She was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, on Oct. 24, 1941, to Elroy and Fern Fancher. Barbara attended grade school at Keswick School and then attended high school in North English. After graduation, she attended Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids and worked at several beauty salons. Eventually, along with Su Wolrab, they opened up Bar-Su Salon in Cedar Rapids, where she worked for several years.
Barbara married William (Bill) Jilovec
on March 20, 1965, in Lisbon, and lived in Cedar Rapids for a few years before eventually purchasing a farm in Mechanicsville. Along with helping on the farm, Barbara opened a salon in her home known as Barb's Kountry Kurl. To this union were born two wonderful children, Brett William (Laurie) and Brenda Su, both of Mechanicsville. She has three beautiful grandchildren, Katrina, Joe and Molly. Barbara also has a brother, Richard Fancher; stepbrother, Terry (Lorna) Baugh; stepson, David Jilovec; and two stepdaughters, Tina (Steve) Laneback and Lisa (Jim) Wright.
Barbara enjoyed gardening, canning, collecting Barbies, sewing and crafts, watching Iowa and Iowa State sports and NASCAR. She also loved spending time with family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Iowa Cremation is entrusted with the arrangements.
Please send any cards and memorial donations to Bill Jilovec, PO Box 152, Mechanicsville, IA 52306.
