INDIANAPOLIS — Former Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Iowa standout Jarrod Uthoff has signed with the Indiana Pacers, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.
The Pacers now have 20 players on their roster, the most an NBA team can have heading into training camp.
Uthoff, 24, played with the Dallas Mavericks at the end of last season, signing a pair of 10-day contracts and then permanently making the roster. He played nine games with the Mavericks, averaging 12.8 minutes, 4.4 points and 2.4 reboubnds.
He signed a multi-year contract with Dallas, but was traded to Houston then waived in August.
The Pacers 'already have both of their two-way contracts designated to players, so Uthoff would have to either earn his way onto the active roster or sign with Fort Wayne after being waived,' according to indianasportscoverage.com
