Jefferson picks up third softball sweep of the week

CEDAR RAPIDS – Fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Jefferson continued rolling Thursday night, increasing its winning streak to nine with a sweep of Cedar Rapids Washington.
Kennedy Dighton hit a grand slam in the fourth inning of the first game and Maddie Hanson followed with a two-run home run in the fifth in a 6-3 win.
The J-Hawks cruised to a 10-0, six-inning win in the nightcap. Maddie Hanson led the team with five RBIs, while Tori Brandon knocked in two.
The J-Hawks are now 29-6 while the Warriors fell to 13-19.
