Solon
Alberta M. Burnhardt, 64, of Solon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Mercy Iowa City.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon, where visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alberta Burnhardt Memorial Fund.

Alberta Mary Dolezal was born Aug. 18, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Eleanor (Sedlacek) Dolezal. She worked around the area many years as a manager in the kitchens at St. Luke's, Solon Nursing Care Center and the University of Iowa. She married Dennis A. Burnhardt on May 19, 1973, in Solon.
When not working Alberta enjoyed fishing, junk shopping, or spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. She also had a special place in her heart for her "kids" (cats).
Her family includes her husband, Dennis; a daughter, Barbara Day-Reynolds and her husband, Stewart, of Solon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jackie Becicka (Leo) of Oxford, Bill Dolezal (Carol) of Homestead, Ray Dolezal (Fran) of Iowa City and Ann Bogs (Bob) of North Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and great-grandson, Ethan Wegmuller.
