Divoky, Richard 'Dick'
Richard “Dick” Divoky, 76, of Solon, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements.
Dick was born May 11, 1934, in Dorchester, Neb., the son of Albin and Helen (Srajhans) Divoky. Dick graduated from Solon High School. He married Doris Blahnik on Jan. 11, 1955, in Walker. Dick farmed his whole life in Solon. Dick loved to vacation in Arizona and spent many winters in Scottsdale.
Dick is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Mark (Julie) and Steve Miller; daughter-in-law, Jean Brotherson; grandchildren, Josh (Michelle), Joe, Jon, Candice (Adam) Salow, Danielle Divoky (Shane); great-grandchildren, Sid, Olivia and Jackson; and sisters, Lorene (Don) Trachta, Delores (Elmer) Trachta and Janice (Sam) Franks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Steve Miller; and grandson, Brandon James Divoky.
Memorials may be directed to the Solon American Legion Memorial and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
