Eleanor DeBruin Bowen,
of Marion, died Thursday, April 27, 2017. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. June 20, at First United Methodist Church of Marion. Vicki Stanley will officiate. Visitation will be at the church before the service.
Eleanor was born June 18, 1939, in Sioux Center, Iowa,
to Willard and Margaret VanRennes DeBruin. She graduated from Sioux Center High School and the University of Iowa.
Eleanor is survived by her children: Nancy Haney of Marion, Patti (Darrin) Cisar of Grand Junction, Colo., John (Jackie) Bohlken of Whittier and Ruth Bohlken of San Marcos, Calif.; stepchildren: Bob (Diane) Bowen of Marion, Pat (Tom) Buser of Muscatine, Jean (Steve) Taylor of Des Moines, Tom (Bobbi) Bowen of Colfax and Peggy (Marco) Adasme of Muscatine; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her brothers, Bill (Janet) DeBruin of Germantown, Wis., and Jim DeBruin of Sioux Center; a nephew, Aaron Kasper, and a niece, Karen Kasper, both of Indiana; extended family, Idella Hogan of Marion, Rudy and Margie Jasa of Cedar Rapids, Harry and Annie Oakley of Holstein and Harry Oakley of Cedar Rapids; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan; and her sister, Jane Kasper.
