Rinderknecht, Lucille F.
Lucille F. Rinderknecht, 94, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, with the Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Luzerne. Visitation also will be held at the church in Atkins from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
Lucille was born June 5, 1916, at Luzerne, to George F. and Louise (Lage) Radeke, and graduated from the Belle Plaine High School in 1934. On Sept. 8, 1937, she married Vernon J. Meyer, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1961. She married Wilbert H. Rinderknecht on April 21, 1967, and she was widowed for a second time on Oct. 5, 1993.
Lucille was a long time member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed membership in the Ladies Society.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Xiaolu) Meyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; her daughter, Karen Meyer of Indianapolis; her stepson, David (Jane) Rinderknecht of Wyckoff, N.J.; her stepdaughter, Carol (John) Leasure of Champaign, Ill.; her granddaughter, Lisa (Nate) Eimer; her grandson, Eric (Catherine) Meyer; her stepgrandsons, Mike (Michelle) Rinderknecht, Jeff (Paula) Leasure and Dan Leasure; her stepgranddaughter, Kim (Steve) Miklandric; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Roehr; and her brother, George L. Radeke.
A memorial fund has been established.
