LEO RAYMOND BEUTER Solon Leo Raymond Beuter, 83, of Solon, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, in Mesa, Ariz. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon with Father Tim Sheedy presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the church. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon is caring for Leo and his family.
Leo was born April 5, 1933, in Solon, the son of Harvey A. and Marcella M. (Umbdenstock) Beuter. He graduated from Solon High School. Leo was united in marriage to Marie M. Reyhons on July 14, 1953, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, rural Solon. Leo worked as a mechanic for over 20 years each at Auto Clinic in Solon and the RV Clinic in Coralville of which he owned with partner Bud Halverson. He was also a bus driver for Solon schools.
Leo enjoyed hiking, ham radio, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He volunteered for many activities during his retirement at Venture Out in Mesa.
Leo is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Marie; children, Denise (Gary) Bentrim of Solon, Bradley Beuter of Glendale, Ariz., and Jon (Cheryl) Beuter of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Ryan (fiancee Kim) Bentrim, Tiffany (Brandon) Clemens, Jenni (Dan) Bauer, Grant (Ruzanna) Beuter, Alex Beuter, Nick Beuter and Janae Beuter (Billy Murphy); and great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Brady Slaton, Kaeden Beuter, Linkin, Koltin and Liam Murphy.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; stepfathers, Rudolph Crofta and Norbert Janko; his brother, David Beuter; and an infant grandson, Joshua Beuter.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon or to Venture Out in Mesa, Ariz.
