Hundreds of phone calls have been placed, recruiting pitches made. The road trips are over, at least for now, but not until some serious damage has been done to their odometers.
The
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders hold their tryout camp this weekend at the
Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. Approximately 80 players - ages 16 to 20 - are going through practices and games in an attempt to make the initial roster for the 2009-2010 season.
Picking who stays and who goes is comparatively the easy part for RoughRiders head coach/general manager Mark Carlson and assistant coach Mark Mullen. It's what leads into this weekend that's most difficult.
