Daggy, Jacquelin 'Jackie'
Jacquelin “Jackie” Daggy, 51, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, of injuries suffered in an auto accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Newhall. Public visitation will also be held at the church in Newhall from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
Jackie was born June 14, 1959, in Fort Dodge, to Arnold and Mildred (Kirchhof) Torkelson, and graduated from Gilmore City-Bradgate High School. She then attended Spencer School of Business. On June 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to Brad Daggy in Humboldt. The couple moved to Benton County in August 1999.
Jackie was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed family time, pets and gardening. Jackie was employed by Target in Cedar Rapids as an in-stock team member.
She is survived by her husband, Brad of rural Belle Plaine; her son, Asa of Belle Plaine; her daughter, Michaela of Santa Monica, Calif.; her parents, Arnold and Mildred Torkleson of Gilmore City; her brothers, Mike (Mary) Torkelson of Stehekin, Wash., and David (Joni) Torkelson of Humboldt; her sisters, Cynthia Bandstra of Chattanooga, Tenn., Becky (Randy) Jones of Macon, Ga., and Shelly (Scott) Phillips of Pocahontas; her parents-in-law, Dale and Gloria Daggy of Humboldt; and 18 nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
