LAURENE "REENIE" FISER
Marengo
Laurene M. "Reenie" Fiser, 67, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo, with Barb Furman officiating. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Reenie is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Travis (Jackie) Fiser of Grundy, Va., and Deena (Darrin) Folkerts of Dike; five grandchildren, Clair Folkerts, Gabe Fiser, Joe Folkerts, Alexa Fiser and Natalie Folkerts; and a brother, Larry (Patty) Kimm of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Kimm.
Laurene Marie Kimm was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Larry Fiser on May 25, 1968, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Marengo.
In Reenie's earlier years, she waitressed at Bill Zuber's, worked at Pioneer Seed Corn and for the local ABC stores in Marengo and Belle Plaine. She later worked at the Cedar Rapids Post Office as a letter carrier for 19 years until she retired.
Reenie enjoyed mushroom hunting, snow skiing, cooking and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and friends.
