The Hlog is using diplomacy with North Korea
Mike Hlas May. 26, 2009 9:44 pm
Barack Obama and just about every other elected official in the world other than the Mayor of Casterbridge have condemned North Korea for testing nukes, firing missiles, and assorted other insanity.
That won't work. Kim Jong-il is the leader/chairman/whatever of North Korea. He is a paranoid fantasist. Paranoid fantasists don't respond well to condemnations or threats. In fact, that sort of trips their crazy triggers.
The Hlog knows what to do, and is going to do it. I suggest you join in by agreeing with the following open letter to Kim:
Sir:
Your human rights violations are horrifying and we would prefer they stop, sure. But you're in North Korea! We have no interest whatsoever in North Korea as long as it isn't messing around with things that can go boom.
So here's a promise: We (meaning the rest of the world, of course) will forever leave you alone to enjoy your wacky dictatorship as long as you stop playing with nukes and missiles and such. Those things could hurt somebody.
Please do us a solid and dismantle your dangerous toys. They kind of frighten us, and you don't want to be a scary bad man, do you?
Give our best to the missus and the mistress. Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
The Hlog, representing the rest of Planet Earth.
He's not crazy (wink, wink)
