Kath, Kenneth Duane
Kenneth Duane Kath, 76, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in Lehigh Acres.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kath; his daughters, Carolyn Pastre of Fort Myers, Fla., and Susan Kath of Austin, Texas; foster sons, Nguyen Tran of Seattle, Wash., Thai Tran of Tucson, Ariz.), and Chau Nguyen of Cedar Rapids; and son, Nguyen of Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Esther Kath; and a sister, LaVonne Kath.
Ken was born July 28, 1934, in Rochester, Minn., the son of Herman and Esther Kath. He served in the United States Army and worked as a manager for both the Iowa Adjustment and Credit Bureau in Cedar Rapids for many years, before retiring to Lehigh Acres, Florida, with his wife of 50 years, Marilyn. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, a lifelong gardener and accredited Florida Master Gardener and an avid photographer.
In lieu of donations, the family requests friends plant a tree in Ken's honor.
