Hilda Louise Hood Kregel
Hilda L. Kregel, widow of Chaplain Herman J. Kregel, was born Hilda Louise Hood on the Hood farm near Springville, Iowa, on Nov. 15, 1914 and died Jan. 16, 2010 in John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, Calif.
She is survived by sons, John Kregel of Santa Cruz, Calif., and David Kregel of Mill Valley, Calif.; and her brothers, Gifford Hood of Battle Creek, Mich., and Milan Hood of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Kregel Hoye of Concord, Calif., on June 20, 2009.
Hilda had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her remains are interred best to her husband, Herman, a World War II and Korean War veteran, in the San Francisco National Cemetery.
