Dorothy Ann Herman (Thiher), 90, of Chisago City, Minn., passed away Jan. 12, 2013.

She was born June 7, 1922, in Nemaha, Iowa, to parents Robert and Wilma (Barrett) Cooper. Dorothy attended elementary school in Humboldt, Iowa, and high school and nurses training in Chicago, before marrying Jim Herman and moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She lived in Cedar Rapids from 1951 to 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Henry James Herman and George W. Thiher; son, Ronald James Herman; and two sisters, Merry Kelley of Cedar Rapids and Margaret Brookner of Dallas, Texas.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Michael (Phyllis) Herman of Chisago City, Minn., and James Herman of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren, Sara Herman and David Herman, both of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Jean Brown of Cedar Rapids and Carol (David) Rueber of Kanawha, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Dorothy's wishes are that donations be made to St. Patrick's Church of Cedar Rapids.

There will be a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery and a brunch to follow in Cedar Rapids in early spring. Arrangements entrusted to Mattson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Forest Lake, Minn. (651) 464-3556.
