C.R.'s Sweeney saves A's with great catch

Former Cedar Rapids Xavier standout and Oakland Athletics center fielder Ryan Sweeney made one of the best catches of the early season Thursday to help give his team a 4-2 win over the Texas Rangers.
With two on and two out in the eighth, Ian Kinsler of the Rangers hit a drive to dead center that Sweeney went back on and made a leaping catch of over the fence.
"I didn't know just what it was going to do," Sweeney said. "I tried to get back, and I was trying to time it. It surprised me [that] I got it in my glove. It was a good feeling."
"That was No. 1 for me in person," said Oakland starting pitcher Dallas Braden, who got the victory. "That's just a 6-5 athlete making a great play."
