Apathy and wasteful apply to our everyday living. We can do something about high utility bills, but most will not because the options are less convenient. Gas ranges look pretty, but are a waste of gas. Infrared ovens do as well and are quicker in many casessaving on utility costs. Induction cooking is also quicker and saves gas and electricity. These methods of cooking work fine, but they do not make your kitchen look better for guests.
Let me get to the real waste of gas and that is our automobiles. My car, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, gets an average 25-35 mpg. This is better than many people, but a far cry from what it should be.
At least I am going to do something about it. I am number 7,703 in line to receive my 84 mpg, 2015 Elio off the assembly line in Shreveport, La., come March or April. This vehicle will do wonders for gas emissions. It is environmentally friendly, made in America with 95 percent North American content. It employs American workers and will give our economy a much needed boost. And best yet, it reduces our dependency on oil.
I should not forget, this is not an 'or” car, it is an 'and” car. It will not replace your gas guzzling vehicle when you need to transport your family places, it will give you the option to drive it around town, or out of town, when you do not need to use your larger vehicle. A base price of $6,800, five star crash rating and pretty much anything you get in your car now, will be available on the Elio. We are not only helping our pocketbooks, we are helping our country.
This is a three-wheeled auto-cycle with all the same amenities of a car and just as safe. Two seat, tandem seating, instead of side-by-side. I could tell you all about it, but I would suggest, before forming any opinions, to take the time to read about it yourself.
Here is your chance to let the oil companies and car manufacturers know that we have had enough. This vehicle is good for our dwindling environment, the economy and our country.
