Helen Marie (Berger) Kraus, 90, passed away at Golden Living Care Facility in Valparaiso, Ind., on
July 24, 2014.
Helen was born in West Amana, Iowa, to Elizabeth
(Miller) and Richard Berger, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Amana High School and a cosmetology school in Des Moines. On Sept. 30, 1944, Helen married George Kraus. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before George's death on Aug. 14, 2011.
Helen worked as a beautician and later was helpmate to her husband in their Old Style Colony Winery in Middle Amana. She was an active Christian by faith.
As a supportive wife and mother, Helen is survived by her children, Donna Kraus, Kandyce Kraus Hannon and Dennis Kraus; six grandchildren; eight great-grand-children; sisters-in-law, Lucille Kraus and Helen Kraus Schuerer; and brother-in-law, Harold Schuerer.
Memorial services will be at a later date in Iowa.
