The Cedar Rapids Kernels have made another player move, annoucing that infielder Carlos Colmenares has been promoted to high-Class A Rancho Cucamonga. He has been replaced on the active roster by infielder Dwayne Bailey, who joins the club from extended spring training.
Bailey, 22, was a 21st-round draft pick of the parent Los Angeles Angels last year out of the University of Central Florida, where he was a teammate of Kernels outfielder Tyson Auer. He hit .286 with a home run and 17 RBIs for Rookie-level Orem last season.
Colmenares hit .211 in 17 games for the Kernels this season.
