Patricia Ann Tonne Storla, 73, of Mount Vernon, died on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Northbrook Manor, Cedar Rapids. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Private family inurnment: Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
Survivors include her children, Kevin (Kathy) Storla of Marion, Lisa (Mark) Henik of Mount Vernon and Carey Storla (Krista Ryan) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jeanne (Nic) Jaeger, Josh Storla, Clint (Kacie) Henik, Cody Henik, Kyle Henik, Colton Storla and Chelsea Storla (Jon Sizemore); great-grandchildren, Landon, Grant and Grayson Jaeger and Cashmyn and Corbin Sizemore; and sisters, Carol (Bob) Swiech, Nancy (Mark) Hansen, Julie (Mark) Brannaman, Holly (Rob) Sautter and Anna (Robert) Broulik.
Pat was born July 14, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the first daughter of Warren and Mary Hattie Bailey Tonne. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1960 and attended the Burlington School of Nursing in Fairfield. Pat was a computer programmer at Life Investors Insurance in Cedar Rapids and Grinnell Mutual Insurance in Grinnell. She married DuWayne Storla in February of 1963. They later divorced.
Pat was always worried about everyone else and enjoyed being a caregiver, putting others before herself. Pat loved gardening and believed you can "never have enough flowers."
She was preceded in death by her parents.
