Phyllis M. Kriz, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her
children, Michael, James and Lynnae, all of Cedar Rapids; her siblings, Marian (Robert) Glandorf of Homestead, Forrest W. (Sharon) Taschner of Edwards, Mo., Patricia (Willard) Glandorf of Williamsburg and David (Cynthia) Taschner of Edwards, Mo.; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lumir.
Phyllis was born Sept. 21, 1930, the daughter of Forrest and Eva (Cheney) Taschner, in Vinton, Iowa. On Nov. 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Lumir Kriz Jr. in Cedar Rapids. Lumir passed away June 19, 1997. They lived on a farm south of Cedar Rapids for 27 years before moving to town. She was baptized at Ellis Church of God and had been a member for over 50 years.
Phyllis worked at Collins Radio and Sanford's Office Supply. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, especially lillies, and had been a master gardener.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous in memory of Phyllis.
