Patricia "Pat" A. Florang, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at West Ridge Care Center, following a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
Pat is survived by three sons, John (Mary) Florang of Norway, Wayne (Ellie) Florang of Springfield, Mo., and Patrick Florang of Sandstone, Minn.; and six grandchildren, Greg, Virginia, Gary, Theresa, David and John.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Theresa; and granddaughter,
Rebecca.
Patricia Ann was born April 29, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert and Beatrice (Baker) Slade. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. Pat married John Joseph Florang on May 14, 1946, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Pat loved art work, making various arts and crafts, especially painting portraits, creating one of a kind dolls and ornaments and gardening.
