Adamek, Patricia 'Pat' Ann

Patricia “Pat” Ann Adamek, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, in her home following a battle with cancer. Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Inurnment: St. John Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Pat is survived by her son, Daniel (Jolene) Mears of Kansas City, Mo.; ex-husband, John Adamek; grandchildren, Amanda, Sean and Amber Mears, and two great-grandchildren, Danny and Carrera, all of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Nadine Wilson of Nevada and Rose Marie (Steve) Wood of Cedar Rapids.

Pat was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Betty (Beranek) Gorman. She married John Adamek on Feb. 26, 1980. They were later divorced.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, seeing local sights. Pat was an avid reader and occasionally enjoyed a trip to the casino. She had an appreciation for art, interior decorating, and fine dining.
