Patricia Ann Scott was born on Nov. 21, 1937, in Hamlin, Iowa, the daughter of Marvel & Gladys (Olson) Shoesmith. She graduated from Audubon High School in 1956. On Sept. 7, 1958, Patricia was united in marriage to Carroll Adair Scott in Audubon, Iowa. She worked for Bankers Life-Security Bank and was a manager at Sport Hill Golf Course. Pat was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Sweet Adelines, and various bowling and bridge clubs. She enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, playing cards, golfing, sudoku puzzles, wintering in Alabama and spending time with her grandchildren. Pat died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at the Bird House Hospice of Johnson County at the age of 81 years.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll "Scotty" of Williamsburg; two children, Kellie (Mike) Grolmus of Panora and Cory (Jackie) Scott of Galesburg, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Cole (Eileen Sene) Grolmus of Minneapolis, Minn., Mollie (Jake) Thomsen of Kalona, Ryan (Jessica Prince) Grolmus of Stuart, Rachel Grolmus of Iowa City, Jake (Melissa) Scott of Aurora, Ill., Jorden (Daniel) Doubet of Richfield, Minn., and Logan Scott of West Des Moines; a great-grandson, Thielen; her siblings, Darrell (Lavonne) Shoesmith of Audubon, Sandra (Gary) Crees of Des Moines, Donna John) Gregorsen of Arvada, Colo., Darwin (Kathy) Shoesmith of Robins and Karen (Dave) Voigt of Mansfield, S.D.
Pat was preceded by her parents and a sister, Kay Sodeman.
Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Pastor Louie Gallo will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from noon to service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bird House Hospice of Johnson County or the Holden's Comprehensive Cancer Center.
