Sobotka, Patricia Ann (Holmes)
Patricia Ann (Holmes) Sobotka, 78, of Oxford Junction, formerly of Anamosa, died Sept. 21, 2011, at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa. Memorial services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Sacred Heart Parish, 309 Church St., Oxford Junction. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Mount Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington state.
Survivors include her husband, Richard “Dick” Sobotka; children, Mary (Mike) Wells, Stephen (Tamara) Sobotka and David (Gaye) Sobotka; sisters, Margie Holub, Dorthy Lange, Margie Holub and Joyce Farrington; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Rae Sobotka; parents, John and Majorie Holmes; and sisters, Wilma Hurt and Mary Jones.
Patricia was born April 28, 1933, in Anamosa, Iowa, to John and Majorie Holmes. She was a longtime nurse's aide in several states and an Air Force wife for 26 1/2 years.
An avid golfer, Patricia was a member of Little Bear Country Club in Wyoming, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A special thank you goes to the St. Luke's Hospice and Jones Regional Medical Center nurses and staff.
