Ahrendsen, Jeffrey
Jeffrey Ahrendsen, 48, slipped peacefully into eternity at his home in Morley on Dec. 4, 2009, his family at his side. A memorial service and celebration of life will be Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Community Center, Anamosa, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Final arrangements handled by Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
He is survived by his parents, Donna and Kenneth Hansen, Anamosa, and Jack and Deb Scanlon, Maquoketa. He is also survived by his children, Dakota Lea, Dalton Joseph and Kenner William Ahrendsen, Novella Alfes and Sonja Spicer; best friend, Ruthie Weideman; brothers, Bryon Ahrendsen (Deb), Anamosa, Robert Ahrendsen (Renee), Cedar Rapids, and Matt Scanlon, Central City; sister, Michelle Thomas, Mount Pleasant; special nephew, Brandon Ahrendsen, Anamosa; and the mother of the children, Stacy Ahrendsen.
He is also survived by his many friends who shared his passion for the Anamosa Blue Raiders!
Jeffrey Ahrendsen was born Sept. 25, 1961, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello. He attended the Anamosa school system, graduating in 1980. After graduation, Jeff proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1983. Jeff was a professional truck driver, serving both local and long distance.
