Patricia Ann Fritz, 64, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, with her family by her side. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Toddville Free United Methodist Church, Toddville. Burial will be held at a later date.
Patricia was born May 1, 1953, in Blairstown, Iowa, the daughter of James and Goldie Bemer. She graduated from Kennedy High School. On Nov. 6, 1971, Patricia married John A Fritz. Patricia enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities, gardening, camping, cooking, fishing and helping others.
Patricia is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Rusty Ann (Cory) Keeney and Jennifer (Travis) Hawkins, both of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Jay McCarty and significant other, Deanna Heit, of Hiawatha; grandchildren, Jayson (fianceé, Brandi Davis), Payton and Madison McCarty, Chase and Cora Keeney and Erika and Leo Hawkins; sisters, Rosie Scott of Cedar Rapids, Shirley Packingham of Cedar Rapids, Cindy Greenhaw of Toddville and Kathy Harris of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Jerry Bemer of Cedar Rapids and Richard Bemer of Toddville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Goldie; daughter, Rebecca Sue McCarty; and brothers, Jake, Junior and Rodney Bemer.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff and physicians of the Hall Perrine Cancer Center, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
